Learn to create more fulfilling relationships with PACT

Social Contract for PACT Trainings

A central goal of the PACT training is to create an engaging and positive learning environment — a collaborative space where students feel both supported and challenged, inspired and enriched in their individual learning trajectories. To that end, we expect all participants in the PACT training to adhere to  the following set of principles.

As Therapists, We All

We commit to treating each other with respect in order to create a safe and inspiring learning environment.

We aspire to clear, open, and direct communication.

We are guided by curiosity, generosity, and the commitment to mastery of the material and to mutual growth as responsible health care workers.

We are committed to learning, even when it takes us out of our comfort zone, particularly when it comes to issues related to racism or marginalization that may come up directly, indirectly, or inadvertently.

We are dedicated to understanding and repair. We are all learners and understand that part of learning is to make mistakes, which often demonstrate risk-taking and provide opportunities for do-overs and growth.

We agree not to discuss personal information shared in class with others outside of class. Clinical and personal material that is shared in this training is confidential and will be held with integrity.

As Educators, We

As educators dedicated to teaching PACT, our goal is for our students to learn and practice the PACT methodology so that it can be implemented effectively.

We strive to honor our commitment to our students to deliver the curriculum, as promised. Because we cover a lot of material, the PACT training moves quickly. Therefore, when an issue arises during the training that cannot be resolved quickly, we – as educators – are dedicated to completing the curriculum in order to maintain the integrity of the training.

We are committed to building an equitable learning environment for all students. We may not be able to resolve all issues during PACT training. If any student feels an issue was not resolved during training, we invite that student to fill out this form so we are able to continue the conversation outside of the live training, with the understanding that our efforts are sincere and intentional. Due to class time constraints and the need to appropriately resolve sensitive issues, many of our efforts happen in our and our staff’s daily work at the Institute. If you have a concern about your experience during a PACT Institute event, please contact us here with details. We will review it and reach out to you to discuss needed next steps.

Zero-Tolerance Policy for Harassment in PACT Trainings

The PACT Institute is committed to providing a safe environment for all its students and community members that is free from any type of harassment, including personal, psychological, and sexual harassment. Harassment is unwelcome conduct or creation of an environment that makes a person feel offended, humiliated, and/or intimidated – whether it occurs one time or multiple times.

The PACT Institute operates a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment, including verbal, non-verbal, in person, or online. We will treat all reported incidents seriously, with respect, and in confidence.

No one will be victimized for making such a complaint. Any person found to have personally, psychologically, or sexually harassed another will face disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from PACT training.
