About the PACT Institute

The PACT Institute offers continuing professional development opportunities for licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals. We train clinicians to successfully integrate a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy® (PACT) in their clinical practices. PACT promotes secure functioning for couples and families.

PACT graduates walk away with enhanced therapeutic skills and have seen significant growth and successful outcomes for their clients.

Here at the PACT Institute, we are dedicated to helping couples thrive. We know when couples are healthy and secure, our communities are mentally, economically, and socially stronger. Therapy services play a critical role in giving couples the support they need to navigate life’s inevitable challenges. Unfortunately, some communities have limited access to these specialized services. We want to do our part to change this dynamic.

How much is the scholarship?

This PACT Institute Scholarship will award:

• $400 toward PACT Level 1 Online Training
• $380 toward PACT Level 2 Online Training

Both scholarships cover 20 percent of the training registration fee.

Who is eligible?

This need-based scholarship is intended for clinicians with demonstrated financial hardship and a passion for working with couples.  

The PACT Institute recognizes that all communities benefit from equal access to high-quality mental health services. To play an integral part in reaching this goal, the therapists who train with us must reflect the diversity of our society in terms of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, and ability. 

Preference for scholarships will be given to:

• Clinicians from underrepresented groups and clinicians with diverse lived experience who are interested in bringing the PACT approach to their communities in a meaningful and responsive way
• Community mental health workers who are employed at city-, county-, or state-level government agencies or publicly funded community mental health centers and work with systemically marginalized or under-resourced communities
• Clinicians who are members of the military, frontline workers, and/or emergency  responders or who work primarily with military families, frontline workers, and/or emergency  responders

Licensed and pre-licensed marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists are eligible to apply. If you are not yet licensed, your application must include proof that you are actively seeking licensure. 

To qualify for attendance in the PACT training, a pre-licensed clinician must (a) be in the final year of graduate school, (b) actively see clients as a supervisee and/or intern, and (c) have a supervisor’s approval to attend the training.

Deadlines

Level 2

The deadline for submitting a scholarship application for the 2024 PACT Level 2 training is July 19, 2024.

The PACT Institute will notify Level 2 scholarship recipients by August 2, 2024. If you submit a scholarship application, please do not register for training before August 2, 2024. You will not be eligible to receive a scholarship if you are already registered for training.

The C. Nathan Bergeron Memorial Scholarship 

The C. Nathan Bergeron Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 in honor of Nathan Bergeron, who was a beloved member of the PACT community. Nathan was a caring and insightful therapist, committed to his clients’ health and well-being in mind, body, and spirit. 

Nathan died in 2020 after suffering a stroke. A guiding principle in Nathan’s life was a commitment to honor human diversity and sexuality. To recognize his dedication, this scholarship in Nathan’s memory seeks to support and encourage clinicians who demonstrate a similar commitment to empower all people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or ability. 

All candidates who apply for any PACT Institute Scholarship will be considered for the C. Nathan Bergeron Memorial Scholarship, which will cover the full cost of PACT Level 1 or PACT Level 2 training. Applicants do not need to complete a separate application to be considered for this scholarship.
