What is psychedelic-assisted therapy?

In psychedelic-assisted therapy, clients take a psychedelic substance while working with a licensed mental health professional. Psychedelic-assisted therapy involves both taking the psychedelic substance along with engaging in professional talk therapy.

Psychedelics can alter perception, mood, and cognition. Psychedelic-assisted therapy can induce profound and lasting changes in psychological and behavioral issues. New scientific studies have shown that interventions using psychedelics have great promise as a treatment for a number of mental health issues.

Is it legal?

Yes. We will focus our conversation on ketamine-assisted therapy, which is currently the only legal psychedelic-assisted therapy in all 50 states. This is because ketamine is a Schedule III drug on the list of federally controlled substances (approved for off-label use), while most other psychedelic substances are Schedule I.

What will I learn?
