PACT in 50 Minutes: Preserving Secure Functioning in Shorter Clinical Frames

by Eda Arduman, MA, Level 1 Instructor and Allison Howe LMHC, MA, EdM, Level 1 Instructor, Senior Instructor

Can you do PACT in a standard 50-minute session? Yes.

PACT Level 1 Instructors Eda Arduman, MA, and Allison Howe, LMHC, MA, EdM, show you exactly how — without diluting the model.

PACT was built for a 90–100 minute session that is often not possible in the reality of practice.  This 2.5-hour workshop gives you a precise, repeatable structure for holding fidelity to PACT (secure functioning, moment-to-moment tracking, down-the-middle positioning) inside a 50-minute container.

Eda and Allison base their shorter sessions around an organizing sequence, which they’ll teach you in this workshop. They’ll share two real case presentations so you can  see what stays constant: observing, cross-questioning, mentalizing, corroborating, and protecting both partners on the way to secure functioning.

You'll leave able to:

  • Assess a couple in the first minutes of session
  • Choose one clear focus and hold it
  • Intervene without losing the thread
  • Close every session so the work actually sticks

Whatever your session length, this workshop will help you become sharper, faster, and more precise in your couple work.
